The use of courtesy form in Italian language

Italians use courtesy form a lot. It is used to address strangers, teachers, professional superiors, distant acquaintances, and anyone about whom you’re unsure. When we need to address people formally, we use the pronoun “Lei” (feminine third-person singular, for one person, male or female). The verb is therefore in the 3th person singular.
