An Italian idiom: “Impara l’arte e mettila da parte”

Every culture has a treasure of popular and proverbial wisdom.
Idioms are often colloquial metaphores, terms which require some foundational knowledge, information, or experience, to use only within a culture where parties must have common reference and are considered a part of that culture.
In Italian, as in other languages, we have a lot of idioms. We want to offer you some of them.

Today we analyse “Impara l’arte e mettila da parte”. This proverb exhorts joung people to live with diligence their live and remember that one day in the future can utilize what you learned in the past.
Similar versions with a similar meaning are also: “Mettere il fieno in cascina” or “Con la legna raccolta da giovane ti scalderai da vecchio”
