Careful about relative superlatives, they are tricky: "I am the best" is definitely "sono il migliore" and "I am the worst" "sono il peggiore". But "sono il maggiore" normally means "I am the eldest" or even "i am the elder (of two)" and "sono il minore" means "I am the youngest" or "I am the younger one or the less important of two".

Superiore, supremo, inferiore and infimo have special usage. You can certainly say "il piano superiore, il piano inferiore" (the higer or lower floor) with reference to the floors of a building, but "il piano infimo o il piano supremo" have a definite metaphysical implication. If you want to refer to the higher or lower floor of a building, you should stick to "il piano piu' alto (o l'ultimo piano) e il piano piu' basso".

Excellent website. I have been trying to learn Italian because of trip to Italy I will be taking in August.

I have been communicating with relatives in Italy who are able to speak English. They were not able to explain the use of "ne" as simply as this website did.

I LOVE your site! I have been studying Italian for 2 years. I would love any advice you might have for training my listening comprehension. When I rent Italian movies, either they are in southern dialect, like Ciao, professore!, or just too fast. I am getting fairly good at reading, although the pronominal verbs still fanno me impazzire.

Grazie por questo aiuto.
